Something in you
knows it is time
to go deeper
Maestra Eunice is an Indigenous Shipibo-Conibo shaman with over twenty years of practice in the Peruvian Amazon. She holds plant dietas, icaros ceremonies, and healing retreats at Benacaya — her center in the jungle.
Spaces are limited. Most retreats fill 2–4 months in advance.
The Maestra
A healer rooted in
living tradition
Maestra Eunice is an Indigenous Shipibo-Conibo shaman from the Peruvian Amazon. She has dedicated her life to the ancient knowledge of plant medicine — learning the songs, the plants, and the protocols that have been passed down through generations of healers in her tradition.
At Benacaya, she works with each person individually, listening with care to what the body and spirit need. She sings the icaros — sacred healing songs — that form the living heart of Shipibo medicine.

What is a Plant Dieta?
A dieta is a sacred contract between a person and a Master plant. You eat simply, live quietly, and open yourself to receive the plant's teaching — its songs, its wisdom, and its healing power.
Maestra Eunice holds the space and guides you through this deep process. Most dietas run for 7 to 21 days, deep in the Amazon jungle. It is not easy work — but it is life-changing work.

Medicine delivered
through song
An icaro is a sacred healing song, learned directly from a plant during a long dieta. Each Shipibo healer carries a unique repertoire of icaros — some received from their teachers, many learned directly from the plants themselves during years of ceremonial isolation.
When Maestra Eunice sings, the icaro carries the medicine. The sound interacts with the person's energy field, reading and addressing what needs attention. She has been developing her repertoire for over twenty years. The songs she sings tonight are not the songs she sang twenty years ago — they have grown, deepened, and multiplied with each passing season.
You don't need to understand this before you arrive. But you may find, inside ceremony, that the song reaches places nothing else has touched.
Icaros are not
performed — they arrive

People come to Benacaya when ordinary paths haven't been enough
People arrive at Benacaya from across the world — from Europe, North America, South America, Australia. They share one thing: they have tried other paths, and those paths were not enough.
- ✦ You are ready for a genuine healing — not a weekend workshop or retreat with plant medicine "on the side"
- ✦ You want to work with an authentic Indigenous healer in their own home tradition, on their land
- ✦ You are called to plant medicine but want proper guidance, containment, and someone who truly knows what they are doing
- ✦ You seek a deep reset — physically, emotionally, spiritually — and you are willing to do the work
- ✦ You can commit to the discipline of a real dieta: the diet, the silence, the surrender
"The forest holds everything you need. You only have to arrive."

What participants say
I had tried therapy for years. What happened in the jungle with Maestra Eunice in two weeks moved more than a decade of sitting in offices. Her icaros reached something in me that words never could.

The dieta is not comfortable. But Maestra Eunice's presence made me feel completely held and safe through the difficult moments. She knows exactly what is happening — and she guides you through it with real skill.

I came with a physical illness and left with my whole life rearranged. Maestra Eunice is the real thing. Benacaya is the real thing. Don't mistake it for a holiday — it is work that changes you.
